parq was founded in 2021 by Daniel Pflaum, condensing several years of experience in architectural production, research, and academia into a single entity.

The office shares the belief in the narrative as the basis of design, as it encompasses both the grand histories of technical and social progression, as well as the quieter remarks of the individual subject. It reflects an approach that is equally committed to the coherency of structure, as well as the uniqueness and singularity of the everyday.

We are also interested in an architecture that draws its spatial and figurative expression from the immediacy of circumstances at hand. Although at times prosaic in nature, building production is embedded in an elaborate trajectory of discourse and discussion. The way we conceive architecture and the means we apply to construction illustrate our relation to society and the environment at large.

We recognize our position among other generations: What we receive, we inherit from our forbearers, what we have, we leave to successors. Careful investigation, cooperation, and wit are the tools at our disposal to develop rich, sustainable, and intelligent projects of strong character.

Daniel Pflaum, M. Sc. ETH Architekt, born in 1986 in Hassfurt, studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. He completed his master's degree in 2014 at the chair of Prof. Emanuel Christ and Prof. Christoph Gantenbein.

In his professional career he worked for Buchner Bründler Architekten in Basel and the Munich-based offices Leuschner von Gaudecker and Studio Leuschner Architekten. Since 2018, he has been engaged in his own competitions and building projects in various constellations. In 2021, he founded parq - office for architecture.

His academic career started in 2018 as a junior teaching assistant at the Chair of Urbanism and Housing of Prof. Bruno Krucker and Prof. Stephen Bates at the Technical University of Munich. Since 2020, Daniel Pflaum has been working as a teaching and research assistant at the Institute of Housing and Design with Prof. Piero Bruno at the University of Stuttgart. In 2023, he briefly joined the Chair of Public Buildings and Design at the Technical University of Dresden.

Throughout his academic trajectory, he has conducted and participated in several research projects.
